You are now enrolled as a Cattolica student and have been assigned a University email account (e.g. firstname.lastname01@icatt.it).  
 

You will receive University communications on both your iCatt email and your personal email accounts, so remember to check both!

In case you need to reset your password for your email account, you must do so from your iCatt login page. You will need to use the automatically generated fiscal code that was sent to you in the first email that you received from the iam_noreply email account with your login credentials.

Once your email account is activated, we recommend downloading the Outlook mobile app to your phone and signing in to your iCatt account.

During your studies at Cattolica, you will be using tools such as your iCatt email, your iCatt page and Blackboard. Therefore, you will need access to a laptop while you are here. Please remember to bring your laptop with you, as well as the appropriate chargers and cables and adapters so that they can be used according to European standards. (see also the What to Bring Section in the Student Guide).

Please note that Blackboard is the platform through which professors upload information about classroom changes, study materials for class preparation, and syllabi. Students access Blackboard through their (previously activated) iCatt account.

Cell phones are not accepted as substitutes for laptops or tablets during class.
 

The orientation event is an essential opportunity for you to find out all the information you need to get your Foundation Programme off to a great start. You will receive your student card and other resources such as the permit of stay kit (for Non-EU students), as well as listen to info-sessions about the University and how your Foundation Programme will be organised. 
 
There will be a series of events in which you can hear specific information about the courses, schedule, university buildings and everything in between! Of course, there will also be time to socialise with your new classmates over lunch, offered by Cattolica International!

The orientation event for the 2026/2027 cohort will be held on Thursday, September 24, and Friday, September 25, 2026.

Participation in the orientation event is mandatory.

You will be sent an email with the invitation to the Orientation Event with a schedule and directions. Please make sure you RSVP!

Cattolica advises you to monitor the dedicated page on the Italian Ministry of Health website for updates regarding travel to Italy. 

Be sure to check your Government / Embassy guidance on travelling to Italy prior to your departure.
 

On campus/ In Italy:

As an enrolled student at Cattolica, you are by default enrolled in a medical and health insurance (AXA Partners Italia). This is an additional health insurance and personal liability coverage that is complementary to your personal international health coverage, which we recommend you to enrol in prior to your arrival in Italy. 

The AXA Partners Italia coverage is only activated for the exact duration of your programme at Cattolica, it does not cover any travel dates to Italy before the start of the Foundation Programme, or any travel that you may do after the end of the Programme.

You can get in contact with the health insurance AXA Partners Italia using the following number: +39 06 42 115 794. It operates 24/7. The following information must be provided: name and surname, policy number (see the link above), type of service requested, address of the place where the Insured is located, telephone number.
 
Monitor the information posted on the City of Milan’s website dedicated to international travelers and residents.
 
Should you need medical assistance while on campus, you can turn to the University Health Center. Consultations are free of charge. English-speaking Medical Specialists are available on demand. Psychological counselling is available on a fee-paying basis.

Non-EU students who do not possess an EU passport must obtain a study VISA.
 

Please remember that once you have obtained your VISA and arrived in Milan, you will be required to apply for a residency permit, known as the Permesso di Soggiorno, or Permit of Stay. You will receive your permit of stay ‘kit’ at the orientation event.

 

Please follow the instructions below to apply for your study visa:
 

1. Check the study visa requirements for your home country.

Check the general Italian visa application guidelines on the Italian visa information website. We highly recommend that you verify any specific application requirements for Foundation Programme students as set out by the Italian Embassy in your home country or consulate in your jurisdiction by visiting the Embassy/Consulate website or by contacting the consular office directly. 

After you have checked the visa requirements for your country, make sure you also follow steps 2 and 3 below. 

 
2. Print your Admission Letter.

You can find the admission letter in the enrolment portal after Cattolica International confirms your enrolment. The Italian consular office might request up to 2 copies, so we recommend printing multiple copies of the letter.

  

3. Complete and submit the pre-enrolment application online on the Universitaly Portal.

Once completed, Cattolica International will check and validate your pre-enrolment application, which will then be made accessible to the Italian Embassy/Consulate for the jurisdiction you selected. You will receive a notification from Universitaly, instructing you to download and print the validated pre-enrolment application. You must provide a copy of the validated pre-enrolment application to the consular office with the admission letter to support your visa application. 

 * Students with a valid Italian or EU passport do not have to apply for a student visa. 

The Codice Fiscale, or Fiscal Code, is a tax code containing letters and numbers. It is a unique identification code issued by the Italian Tax Authority (Agenzia delle Entrate).
 

It is a required code for many official documents, private contracts, online purchases and money transfers. It is very likely that the landlord of your accommodation in Milan will ask you for it.
