How to Obtain your Fiscal Code

The Codice Fiscale, or Fiscal Code, is a tax code containing letters and numbers. It is a unique identification code issued by the Italian Tax Authority (Agenzia delle Entrate). It is a required code for many official documents, private contracts, online purchases and money transfers. Specifically, it is required for housing agreements / rental lasting 4 or more weeks.

When you enrolled at Cattolica you were given a code similar to the Fiscal Code, however, this code was automatically generated by our systems and is not the offical code issued by the Italian Tax Authority and therefore is not valid for use in the transactions listed above.

!! All students (EU and NON EU) staying in Italy for 4 weeks or more must obtain an official fiscal code !!

Non-EU students can apply for the official fiscal code at the same time as they apply for their visa at the Italian Embassy or Consulate Office in their home country prior to their departure.

The links below will take you to the forms and instructions you need to obtain your official fiscal code from the Agenzie delle entrate.
