When you enrolled at Cattolica you were given a code similar to the Fiscal Code, however, this code was automatically generated by our systems and is not the official code issued by the Italian Tax Authority and therefore is not valid for use in the transactions listed above.
You can obtain your official fiscal code either from:
- the Italian Embassy or Consulate Office in your home country prior to your departure (you can search here for the one nearest to you)
- directly from the Agenzie delle Entrate once you arrive in Milan.
We recommend you obtain your fiscal code through the Embassy or Consulate before your arrival. If that is not possible, below you can find instructions on how to obtain it once you are in Milan.

Applying for the Fiscal Code when you are in Milan
- Fill out the form you have downloaded from the link above.
- Find out the Municipal Zone you live in. Milan is made up of 9 municipal zones and you can find your zone by entering the words ‘Municipio zona’ and your address in Google
- Find the contact details and email address of the Tax Authority Office for your zone
- Send the form to the tax authority of your zone via email, together with:
- A scanned copy of your passport
- If applicable, a scanned copy of the visa page
- If you are submitting a copy of your ID card, make sure you include the front and back.
In the subject line of the email, enter the following info: Name, Surname, Request for Fiscal Code
It normally takes 5 to 10 business days to process your application, after which you will receive a pdf file with your certificate.
