You are now enrolled as a Cattolica student and have been assigned a University email account (e.g. firstname.lastname01@icatt.it).  

*your email address is made up of the username you used for the application portal*

You will receive University communications on both your iCatt email and your personal email accounts so remember to check both!

In case you need to reset your password for your email account, you must do so from your iCatt login page. You will need to use the automatically generated fiscal code that was sent to you in the first email that you received from the iam_noreply email account with your login credentials.
 

Check the general Italian visa application guidelines on the Italian visa information website.

We highly recommend that you verify any specific application requirements as set out by the Italian Embassy in your home country or consulate in your jurisdiction by visiting the Embassy/consulate website or by contacting the consular office directly. 

Students with a valid Italian or E.U. passport do not have to apply for a student visa. 

In case you do have to apply for a student visa, you will need to:

1. Print your Admission Letter.
   You will receive your admission letter from the International Office confirming your enrolment. It is provided in two languages (Italian and English). The Italian consular office might request up to 2 copies, so we recommend printing multiple copies of the letter in both languages.
2. Complete and submit the pre-enrolment application online on the Universitaly Portal.
   Follow the steps described in the guide: English guide - Italian guide
   Once completed, Cattolica International will check and validate your pre-enrolment application, which will then be made accessible to the Italian Embassy/Consulate for the jurisdiction you selected. You will receive a notification from Universitaly, instructing you to download and print the validated pre-enrolment application. You must provide a copy of the validated pre-enrolment application to the consular office with the admission letter to support your visa application. 
    
3. Request your study VISA.
   Check the general Italian visa application guidelines on the Italian visa information website. We highly recommend that you verify any specific application requirements as set out by the Italian Embassy in your home country or consulate in your jurisdiction by visiting the Embassy/consulate website or by contacting the consular office directly. 

How to obtain your Fiscal Code

The Codice Fiscale, or Fiscal Code, is a tax code containing letters and numbers. It is a unique identification code for each individual person issued by the Italian Tax Authority (Agenzia delle Entrate). It is a required code for many official documents, private contracts, online purchases and money transfers.

When you enrolled at Cattolica you were given a code similar to the Fiscal Code, however, this code was automatically generated by our systems and is not the official code issued by the Italian Tax Authority and therefore is not valid for use in the transactions listed above.

You can obtain your official fiscal code either from:

• the Italian Embassy or Consulate Office in your home country prior to your departure (you can search here for the one nearest to you)
• from the Agenzie delle Entrate once you arrive in Rome.

We recommend you obtain your fiscal code through the Embassy or Consulate before your arrival. 

If you didn’t get it before coming to Italy, you will need to:

•   Book an appointment   

Select “Request your tax code for the first time”, select the city of Rome and your preferred date and time for scheduling.
 

Cattolica suggests you to monitor the dedicated page on the Italian Ministry of Health website for updates regarding travel to Italy. 

Be sure to check your Government / Embassy guidance on travelling to Italy prior to your departure.
 
On campus/ In Italy:
 

• As an enrolled student at Cattolica, you are by default enrolled in a medical and health insurance (AXA Partners Italia). This is an additional health insurance and personal liability coverage that is complementary to your home university international health coverage we recommend you to enrol in prior to your arrival in Italy. 
  
  The AXA Partners Italia coverage is only activated for the exact duration of your programme at Cattolica, it does not cover any travel dates to Italy before the start of the programme, or any travel that you may do after the end of your programme.
  
  You can get in contact with the health insurance AXA Partners Italia using the following number: +39 06. 42 115 794. It operates 24/7. The following information must be provided: name and surname, policy number (see the link above), type of service requested, address of the place where the Insure is dislocated, telephone number.

If you have guaranteed housing, a housing placement in a double/triple room is pre-arranged for you. MIL Service will contact you directly with all the necessary information to confirm your placement. Housing benefits begin on the official date of arrival and last until the end of the placement period.

You can check these dates on the Admission letter you download from the application portal at the end of the enrolment process.

If you don't have guaranteed housing, you can explore possible solutions on the websites listed below.

IMPORTANT: Some of these sites act as intermediaries and apply commissions for each placement, in which case all housing offers have been properly vetted. Other sites simply manage listings and announcements by third parties, either management companies or individuals. Although these housing search platforms monitor and try to prevent the posting of fraudulent offers, some may still make their way onto the platform. Make sure you have the full name, contact information and address of the renter, and make sure to request a copy of your rent contract and identity document of the renter before transferring any funds to them. Should you have any doubts regarding the legitimacy of the offer you’ve found via any of the platforms, do contact the platform management to request vetting of the contact or to report a suspected fraudulent posting. Università Cattolica cannot be held responsible for any announcements or posting made by third parties on any of the sites listed here. 

Booking platforms:

Booking offers a wide range of apartments, hotels, and bed and breakfasts. You can filter the results by type of accommodation, price, location, and reviews.

Airbnb is another popular option for finding apartments and rooms for rent. It is a great choice if you are interested in living in a local neighborhood and interacting with locals.

Vrbo offers vacation rentals of houses and apartments. It is an interesting option if you are looking for a more spacious accommodation or if you are traveling with a group of people.

Real estate listing websites:

Idealista is an Italian portal that offers listings for apartments for rent and for sale. You can find listings from both private individuals and real estate agencies.

Subito is another Italian portal with a section dedicated to real estate listings.

Bakeca is a generalist portal that also includes a section dedicated to real estate listings.

Facebook groups:

https://www.student.com/it/rome is a Facebook group where students and young professionals post listings for apartments for rent and sublet.

Idealista rooms for rent Rome is another Facebook group where you can find listings for rooms for rent.

Tips:

• Book in advance: June/July are popular months to visit Rome, so it is advisable to book your accommodation well in advance.
• Read the reviews: Before booking an accommodation, read the reviews of other guests to get an idea of what to expect.
• Consider the location: Choose an accommodation in a location that is convenient for you to reach the places you want to visit.
• Set your budget: Set a budget before you start looking for an accommodation to avoid overspending.

The orientation event that you should attend depends on when your courses begin. The start date of your study abroad is indicated on your admission letter, and the orientation event is always the day after the start date on your admission letter. 

The orientation events for the Summer program are:

• Orientation event 2: June 24, 2024 9:30 am
