Who should read this?
 

This section is dedicated to every student who will be traveling to Italy and to those who are encouraged to do so as soon as any existing current travel restrictions will be lifted. 

Please keep in mind that travel dispositions might vary in the upcoming months. 

All students enrolled at Cattolica starting Fall Semester 2021 are highly encouraged to attend classes in person, accordingly the regulations mentioned in the Health and Safety page.

Accessing university buildings and cafeteria – “GREEN PASS” or valid equivalent

Yes, in order to access campus for in-person class attendance, all students will need to show proof of a EMA-recognized vaccination of a valid negative antigen test result within the last 48 hours, or a valid negative molecular test result within the last 72 hours OR proof of having recovered from COVID-19 within the last 6 months.


Students must possess and present their GREEN PASS or equivalent (e.g. European certification for COVID vaccine or recovery or negative test) to access university buildings and cafeteria.

The connection of Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and Vatican City to the EU digital COVID-19 certificate system means that COVID-19 certificates issued in the named countries are accepted in the EU under the same conditions as EU members states’ EU digital COVID-19 certificates.

Yes, but at the following conditions: the Italian Ministry of Health has established (23/09/2021), that individuals from Third States can use their own state issued vaccination certifications or proof of recovery as substitute of the green Covid-19 certification (Digital Covid Certificate of the EU) issued by the Italian State if they meet the following requirements: 
 
  1. They have completed a full cycle of vaccination of one of these EMA approved vaccines: 
    • Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNtech);
    • Spikevax (Moderna);
    • Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca)
    • Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
    • Covishield (Serum Institute of India)*
    • R-CoVI (R-Pharm)*
    • Covid-19 vaccine-recombinant (Fiocruz)*

  2. Certification documentation must state the following information: 
    Vaccination certificates:
    • student identification (name, surname, date of birth);
    • vaccine information (name and batch);
    • date(s) of the vaccination;
    • Issuing institution/authority (eg State, Health Authority).

This document must be issued in one of the following languages: English, Italian, Spanish or French. 
If the certificate was issued in another language, it must be accompanied by an official notarized translation.

Recovery certificates are also considered valid and equivalent to the Green Pass if they are in the languages listed above and include the following information:

  • student identification (name, surname, date of birth);
  • SarS-CoV-2 infection verification date with positive test (date of first positive swab);
  • issuing institution/authority (eg State, Health Authority).

Students who do not have documentation that meet the above criteria will need to present proof of a negative molecular or antigen test result done within 48hrs in order to access campus.
 

Contact the local ATS to submit a request, which will be examined on a case-by-case basis.

MILAN CAMPUS: Monitor the information posted on the City of Milan’s website.
  1. According to the Ministry of Health, citizens vaccinated abroad with a full cycle of vaccination not authorized by EMA may receive a booster dose with m-RNA vaccine starting from 28 days and up to a maximum of 6 months (180 days) from the date of their last dose of the first cycle of vaccination.
    The completion of this integrated vaccination course is approved for getting the Green Pass.
     
  2. If over 6 months have passed from the completion of the first cycle of vaccination with vaccines not authorized by EMA, as well as in case of incomplete vaccination cycle, it is possible to get a complete primary vaccination cycle with m-RNA vaccine. 

    If you are yet to travel to Italy, make sure you get a vaccination certificate issued by your State or local health authority. It must contain at least the following:
    • student identification (name, surname, date of birth);
    • vaccine information (name and batch);
    • date(s) of the vaccination;
    • Issuing institution/authority (eg State, Health Authority).


This document must be issued in one of the following languages: English, Italian, Spanish or French. 
If the certificate was issued in another language, it must be accompanied by an official notarized translation.
If your situation falls into scenarios 1 or 2, you can get tested on selected days to access campus and services. 

No, at this time the University does not have on-site testing capability. Students can take tests in the pharmacies that offer this service or in any other private medical center booking the test (PCR or antigenic) in advance. Prices for the tests may vary and they cost between 18 and 30 Euros. Most of the private medical centers have the possibility to book an appointment online.
 

Some of the medical centers that offer this service on a fee-paying basis are:


ROME CAMPUS: Students can take Covid-19 tests on campus for free from the University Health Surveillance Service – Sorveglianza Sanitaria d’Ateneo up to 2nd floor of the Istituti Biologici building, room nr. 432. They should skip the Green Pass certificate controls at the building entrance by declaring they are entering to take the Covid-19 test. Those who test negative will be provided with a certificate that will allow them to access the university facilities for 48 hours.

Yes.  It is possible for international students to get the vaccine while they are studying in Italy. 
 
  • Lombardy Region
    It will be necessary to register on the Lombardy Region website, and follow the instructions found in the section "Registered with AIRE and other categories provided for by the Ordinance 7/2021, SASN staff , foreigners, STP ".
    Within 24/48 hours after registration (pre-access) you will be able to proceed with the booking of the anti Covid-19 vaccine.

    They will need to have their Italian Fiscal Code (issued officially by the Agenzia delle Entrate/Revenue Agency).

  • Emilia Romagna and Lazio region
    Students can adhere to the vaccination campaign upon subscription to the National Health Service.

Course delivery

Students may attend classes remotely from their own country only if they cannot travel to Italy or participate in person due to the inability to meet one or more of the pre-requisites (GREEN PASS or similar vaccination certificate or recovery certifications) needed to access the University.
NOT applicable to 1-year specializing masters (master Universitari)
 

Courses will be delivered both in-person and contemporaneously online. 
Campus access will be managed by an algorithm that will assign specific days each student will be allowed on campus. All students must use the i-Catt app and confirm in-person attendance for the days allocated.
All lessons will be recorded and can be viewed, but not downloaded, by enrolled students at least for at least a week.
 

As of 15 November, the exams will be held in-person. Online exams will still be allowed as an option for those students who cannot attend in person due to proven health problems related to the COVID-19 coronavirus and attested by a specific self-certification to be completed in the appropriate portal when registering for the exam.
