Home Stories Pop How to pack like a pro How to pack like a pro by Mônica Duarte How it works in theory First things first. Furthermore, this allows you to travel with extra space in your luggage – which is a good thing because during the three months you might purchase things. How to pack for two weeks? To sort enough clothes for that amount of time I simply ask myself: does this t-shirt, for example, bring me joy? If the answer is yes, I will pack it. Toiletries, clothes and this and that for different reasons, well you never know... So after unpacking all that stuff I made a list of everything that I am used to wearing during a two week period and started from that point. So I packed two coats, one leather jacket, four pairs of trousers, some shirts and pullovers, skirts and shorts, a cocktail dress and a pair of fancy shoes, scarfs, towel, bikini, flip flops, sandals, underwear. If you still have enough space, bring a carry-on suitcase – in case you need a little extra space... By the way: bed sheets and towels. A small list of tiny things that I always have when I travel power adapter two or three padlocks (some hostels have lockers, but no padlocks.).

On the gridiron of fears and dreams
Despite being a timid child, it did not take long for 16-year-old Nausicaa Dell’Orto to drop the shiny cheerleading pom poms she had started shaking only a year before and enter the field herself when she saw a male team go for it. Today we meet Nausicaa, not only as a tight end player in American football and one of the first women in Italy to propose a female team but also as a championship winner, Italian National Team captain, NFL Films storyteller, and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore alumna. Back when Nausicaa first became interested in the sport, American football was barely popular among men in the land famous for soccer. After all, the game is too tough for girls, right? It didn’t stop Nausicaa, nor the rest of the team. Her degree in Languages, Communications, and Media at Università Cattolica and the subsequent international experiences led Nausicaa to an internship at Sky Sports in 2017, an experience that she admits greatly helped her career and introduced her to valuable contacts in the field. Nausicaa recalls thinking “Why am I even doing this?” - a thought that seems inconceivable to anyone meeting Nausicaa today. Garnering her experience on the field and the storytelling knowledge acquired during her studies, Nausicaa presented the board with a story about Penelope, a young cheerleader in Milan, whose dream was to play American football.
A mission to inspire. Passion to teach.
In the province of Brescia, Northern Italy, there is a small town of just a little more than 1,200 inhabitants, and with nature at everyone’s doorstep, this is where Davide grew up. At Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, there is an undergraduate degree called Financial Markets and Institutions. One of them, whom he mentioned right away, was Professor Giovanni Petrella, who still works as a professor in the School of Banking, Finance and Insurance Sciences at Università Cattolica. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree, Davide chose to pursue a Master of Science in Banking and Finance at Università Cattolica. With a fiery determination to encourage his future students, as he had been inspired, and looking inwards to what has always guided him, Davide said "Let your passion drive your choices." And as the future generation leaves the lecture hall, Davide Romelli packs up his belongings as well. Davide Romelli, with his passion and devotion, continues to make a purposeful impact.
This is our determination. Our grit.
At Università Cattolica, the community embodies determination through actions. Through the pursuit of Università Cattolica in finding a fitting description of its ventures during the ebb and flow of the pandemic, the adjustments and metamorphosis it has undergone from the strike of the global crisis, the search of definition to its pursuits lands on grit. To add its own spin to the term, the community of Università Cattolica echoes the philosophy of grit: acknowledging the highs and lows in responding to the academic, social and personal duties, but facing the challenges and successes head-on without the mindset of giving up. The advancement of one’s knowledge through education has always been at the forefront of Università Cattolica’s global initiative and more so during the pandemic as the community continues to bridge the gap of education between Europe and Africa through E4Impact . In partnership with ALTIS (Alta Scuola di Impresa e Società at Università Cattolica), E4Impact offers MBA programmes and scholarships to fifteen African countries, training entrepreneurs who make an impact in their local communities. I believe Università Cattolica and E4Impact’s presence in Africa is one unrivalled within Europe,” says Professor Mario Molteni , Rector’s Delegate for Business Relations, and Full Professor of Business Administration and Corporate Strategy at Università Cattolica, Milan . Flying back to China due to unforeseen circumstances, she finds herself accepting an internship that challenges and sharpens her communication skills while studying at Università Cattolica for her master’s degree in Methods and Topics in Arts Management, sometimes watching recorded lessons and other times attending classes at midnight.

Understanding what makes Gen Z tick. Meet the experts. Jessica Winters, Utrecht University
Jessica Winters, Utrecht University Understanding what makes Gen Z tick. Jessica Winters, Utrecht University Jessica Winters is Head of Marketing at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. With 18 years of experience in international higher education, Jessica specializes in online and social media marketing and was an early adopter in the development and use of such tools in higher education. In addition to her work for the university, she also provides marketing and communication consultancy services specifically for higher education institutions, organizations related to higher education and other non-profit organizations. Jessica was a Steering group member of the EAIE Expert Community Marketing and Recruitment and of the Dutch international higher ed recruitment community. What is the future of International Higher Ed? How will it adapt to the changing environment of Gen Z? In the Netherlands, we’re experiencing a shift from getting the right quantity of student to the right quality of students with the right backgrounds. I don’t think universities and colleges have a choice: we either adapt to these changes so we can cater the needs of Gen Z and take steps forward, or we don’t.

From passion to action. How Veronica Corbellini channels her love to work
How Veronica Corbellini channels her love to work From passion to action. How Veronica Corbellini channels her love to work by Matthew Burgos Veronica Corbellini snatched a small object from her purse and handed it to me. She had taken off her long, black coat, hung it on the back post of the wooden chair, before she announced her news. Veronica’s tenderness speaks through her actions and words, and this is not a surprise at all, not when she has grown fond of children. “If you want to make a difference, you have to start from the roots,” shared Veronica. The sense of desire to further her studies provoked Veronica to explore her options abroad. Right after Veronica returned from her international volunteering experience in India, she flew to New York to join the NGO “Catholic Medical Mission Board” for her four–months internship program. “For now, I have to finish my practicum in children neuropsychiatry at Policlinico di Milano and aim to take part in the national board exam to become a full-fledged, licensed psychologist by this summer,” shared Veronica.

Home Stories Students and alumni #trustthejourney #trustthejourney by Matthew Burgos At first, Francesco comes across as shy and reserved, but underneath the surface he is bustling with energy, craving the next authentic experience in a unique destination. Generation Z is the most traveled destination, as seeing the world has become one of their top priorities, as is the case with Francesco who has undertaken several study and internship opportunities abroad. The first time Francesco Cinti went to Japan, he climbed Mt. Fuji. Francesco stretched his arms after the long trek and sighed happily, a reminder of the treasure trove that could be found when traveling abroad. Francesco has always been curious about traveling. At that time, Francesco wasn’t worried about his studies. In return for the towering plates of Italian cuisine on the dining table, Francesco brings home his new palette of stories to tell to his family.
