What’s the difference between a 2-year Master of Science and a 1-year Specialising Master?

 

Which programme is better for me?

This depends on your goals. Do you want to do research or apply for a PhD in the future? Choose the 2-year Master of Science. Do you want to learn new skills and start working soon? The 1-year Specialising Master might be better.

 

The 2-year Master of Science degree

 

What is it?
A 2-year Master of Science (MSc) is an academic degree with 120 ECTS credits.


Who is it for?
It is for students who already have a strong background in a similar subject area.


What will I learn?
You will study advanced topics and do academic research. You will write a final thesis (called a dissertation).


What can I do after?
This degree allows you to:

  • Apply for PhD programs in Italy or abroad.
  • Apply for internships or professional jobs.

This diploma does not give access to PhD programmes, but it helps you:
