Cattolica International

Undergraduate Admission Policy for IB Diploma students

The following requirements are set by the Italian Ministry for University and Research (MUR) and are available on UniversItaly Portal

Can I apply to Università Cattolica with an IB Diploma?

Yes. If you have completed at least 12 years of schooling and hold the full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, you are eligible to apply for our Bachelor’s degree programmes.

To meet the admission requirements, you must have entered the IB programme after being deemed eligible to the penultimate year of secondary school in your national system. For example, if you studied in the Italian system, you need to have successfully completed the third year of high school before starting the IB.

Please note: we do not accept IB Certificates or the IB Career-related Programme.

Is there a required grade average for admission?

Beyond meeting the requirements to obtain the full IB Diploma, any additional grade average requirement depends on the specific programme you are applying to:

Note: Bonus points and predicted grades are not considered for the grade average requirement.

What are the Math's requirements for Economics and Finance-related programmes?

Don’t meet these grades? You can strengthen your application by submitting SAT/ACT test results. See each programme webpage for recommended/required scores.

You must send all your SAT/ACT score reports if you took the test more than once.

Do I Need to Submit an English Test?

If your IB programme is taught in English, no extra English test is needed.

After You Receive an Offer

Before results are released, ask the IBO to send your final scores directly to Università Cattolica (find here the procedure). Our IB school code is 001623.

This procedure replaces any need for legalization, “Dichiarazione di Valore” or CIMEA Statements.

In the IBIS system, please specify your Cattolica username (name.lastname01) as “Student ID/Application number” and your programme of admission as “Course reference”. These fields are not mandatory; if you do not have a username yet, you may leave that field blank.

REMEMBER: You must receive your full IB Diploma by the May 2026 session. Results will be available in July 2026

We do not accept IB retakes in November 2026.
