Transfer applicants

Who should contact International Admissions before applying

If you fit into any of the categories below, please contact international.admissions@unicatt.it before opening an application on Portale Iscrizioni to receive dedicated instructions on the domestic transfer procedure:

  • You hold an Italian High School Diploma and wish to transfer credits from a non-Italian university.
  • You hold a non-Italian High School Diploma and wish to transfer from an Italian university or from a different Bachelor degree at Università Cattolica.

Who should follow the international transfer procedure

This procedure applies to candidates who:

  • Hold a non-Italian High School Diploma, and
  • Wish to transfer credits from a non-Italian university.

Applications for a transfer are accepted only if the following conditions are met:

  1. Previous studies in English: Your previous university studies were entirely taught and examined in English.

  2. Accredited institution: Your studies were at a degree-granting higher education institution accredited by relevant local authorities in the country where it operates.

  3. Good academic standing: You have satisfactory academic performance without significant difficulties.

  4. English language requirement: You meet the English proficiency requirements (see "Entry Requirements").

  5. Evaluation of passed exams: For discontinued or interrupted studies, only successfully passed exams listed on your official transcript at the time of application will be considered for credit transfer.
1. Apply Online

As a transfer candidate, you must follow the same application procedure, selection process and deadlines as new degree applicants. Here are the key application sections you should focus on:

  • Credit transfer request: In the "College Information" section, select the option indicating you wish to transfer credits to Università Cattolica (“Do you wish to transfer credits to Università Cattolica?”). Failure to do so means your credit transfer request will not be processed.
  • College Transcript: Upload an official transcript that clearly shows:
    • Issuing university's name
    • Grades, credits, and passing dates of each exam
    • Transcript issuing date
    • Your full name and student number
    • Explanation of the grading and credit systems used
    • The language of instruction
  • Detailed Course Syllabi: Email detailed syllabi of each successfully passed course (as listed on your transcript) to international.admissions@unicatt.it. Name each file with the exact course name/code.
  • Application Fee: Pay the €75 non-refundable application fee required for all transfer requests.

2. Evaluation of Academic Background

After receiving your complete application, the Academic Board will assess:

  • Whether your high school background complies with the enrolment regulations set by the Italian Ministry for Universities and aligns with the programme’s requirements regarding grades, English proficiency, and motivation
  • Determine if the content, level, and workload of your completed courses are comparable to those in the Cattolica study plan.

Timeline: The evaluation of transfer requests takes about 8-10 working weeks from the day all documents have been submitted.

If eligible, you will receive an offer for admission with the number of transferable credits, your year of admission, any enrollment conditions and the deposit payment deadline.

NOTE: Admission to years after the 1st of enrollment is allowed if the Academic Board recognizes a minimum number of 40 ECTS.

If admitted to an advanced year, you must complete all exams in the program's study plan, including any unrecognized exams from previous years, in accordance with the School of Banking, Finance and Insurance Sciences rules (available in the Guida di Facoltà).
