Transferring to Bachelor in Psychology at Università Cattolica: Domestic or International procedure
Who should follow the domestic transfer procedure?
a. You have an Italian High School Diploma and want to transfer credits from a non-Italian university.
In this case, reserve your place in the 1st year of the programme as a domestic applicant.
Then, send to international.admissions@unicatt.it a copy of your official transcript of records and course syllabi by the deadline indicated here to proceed with the credit transfer evaluation.
B. You have a non-Italian High School Diploma and are transferring from:
- An Italian university, or
- A different Bachelor’s degree at Università Cattolica.
In these cases, contact: international.admissions@unicatt.it before applying on the Portale Iscrizioni and send a copy of the following documents by the deadline indicated here (from this page select the School of interest, then the Bachelor of interest, download and read the transfer requirements)
- Your high school Diploma
- Your high school transcripts for the last 2 years
- Your English Language Certificate
- Your ID/permit of stay (if non-EU citizen)
Who should follow the international transfer procedure?
- You have a non-Italian High School Diploma, and
- You are transferring credits from a non-Italian university.
International transfer requirements for the Bachelor in Psychology
You must meet all the following conditions:
- Studies in English: All your university courses were taught and examined in English.
- Accredited institution: You studied at a higher education institution accredited in the country awarding the qualification. If you studied at a branch campus or foreign university located outside its home country, the campus must be recognized or accredited in the country where it is physically located.
- Good academic standing: You passed most of your courses with satisfactory results.
- English proficiency: You meet Università Cattolica’s English language requirements.
- Eligible exams only: Only successfully passed exams, listed on your official transcript at the time of application, will be considered. Courses still in progress will not be evaluated.
The Academic Board will review your transfer request only once.
Note: Credit transfer from international programmes may result in fewer recognised credits than expected, due to differences in programme structure and academic systems.
How to Apply as an International Transfer Student
Step 1: Submit Your Online Application for the Bachelor in Psychology
- Credit Transfer Request: In the "College Information" section, select “Do you wish to transfer credits to Università Cattolica?” If you do not select this, your credit transfer request will not be reviewed.
- Official Transcript: Upload a complete and official transcript showing:
- Your full name and student number
- University name
- All passed exams with grades, credits, and dates
- Date the transcript was issued
- Explanation of the grading and credit systems
- Language of instruction
- Course Syllabi: Email the syllabus for each passed course (matching those on your transcript) to: international.admissions@unicatt.it. Each file must be named with the exact course name or code.
- Application Fee: Pay the non-refundable €75 fee.
Step 2: Selection and Evaluation of Academic Background
- Your application will be assessed based on the specific requirements for the Bachelor in Psychology.
- If you move to the second phase and pass the interview, the Academic Board will check if your credits can be transferred.
The Academic Board decides if you can join the Bachelor in Psychology with credits from your previous studies. If you do not meet the requirements for credit transfer, you may still receive an offer to start the programme from the beginning.
