The Medicine and Surgery – Bolzano programme is a 6-year degree taught entirely in English, offered at Università Cattolica in partnership with the Claudiana University Centre for Health Professions in Bolzano. The programme trains international students to become skilled doctors with experience across languages, cultures and clinical systems. It prepares students to work in multilingual and cross-border healthcare settings across Europe.

What makes this programme unique?

Multilingual clinical training: While lectures are in English, clinical internships are in German and Italian—reflecting the bilingual healthcare system in South Tyrol and preparing students to work across Europe.

Two-campus benefit: Students learn from faculty in both Bolzano and the renowned Gemelli Hospital in Rome, combining local clinical access with international medical expertise.

Integrated European and U.S. standards: The programme blends European medical education with training aligned to U.S. systems, covering medical ethics, patient communication, and healthcare law.

Strategic regional focus: Claudiana is a top centre for health professions in Italy and serves as the key institution for nursing, rehabilitation and prevention in the Bolzano area.
