Transfers from an Italian University / from Cattolica bachelors

To apply for a transfer from an Italian University to Università Cattolica, or to apply for a change of Bachelor at Cattolica, non-EU candidates residing in Italy must possess a valid Permit of stay. If you hold a Permit of stay for Study, you must have passed, in your previous university career, enough exams to be able to renew your Permit of stay, based on current national regulations.

If you wish to transfer to the Bachelor in Economics and Management from a Bachelor taught at another Italian University and hold a non-Italian High School Diploma, you must pass the Cattolica Admission Test.

For information on the Admission Test, on the eligibility and on the registration to Portale Iscrizioni, check the Admission Procedures.

While registering, make sure you follow these additional instructions:

  1. Profile Tab > Qualification section: enter your international High School Diploma as well as the Italian bachelor’s name, exams, grades, CFUs, SSDs and dates. If are/were a Cattolica student, you will find this section already filled in.
  2. Applications Tab: select the Degree of interest and the Type of application.
    Warnings:
    • If you apply for a change of Bachelor at Cattolica, you cannot open an application independently. You must contact international.admissions@unicatt.it beforehand, by the deadlines indicated in the chart above, so that the International Office can open a dedicated application on your behalf on Portale Iscrizioni.
    • You can autonomously open an application for Economics and Management only if you hold a valid English Language Certificate (check the admission procedures). Should your High School curriculum be taught in English, send a copy of your final Diploma and Transcript to international.admissions@unicatt.it before you apply to the programme, so that the International Office can evaluate your documents and eventually remove the Language Certificate request, and you will be able to proceed with your registration to the Test.
  3. Applications Tab: once your application has started, insert 6 as the grade for Italian, History, Maths and first Foreign Language- both for 3rd and 4th senior year. Then, send to international.admissions@unicatt.it a scanned copy of your last two years of High School transcripts as well as a copy of your final Diploma.  The International Admissions Office will convert your grades to the Italian grading system, if possible, and they might request you further documents, if necessary. The grades of the 4th senior year will be duplicated.

You can be exonerated from the Admission Test if you have successfully passed and have already been validated one of the following exams, in English, with at least 8 ECTS:

  • Principles of management (ssd: SECS-P/07);
  • Microeconomics (ssd: SECS-P/01);
  • Principles of law (ssd: IUS/01 – IUS/04);
  • Mathematics (ssd: SECS-S/06 - MAT/05).

After you have successfully passed either the Admission Test, or one of the exams required for the exemption from the Test, you must forward the Domanda di istruttoria through Portale Iscrizioni.

The place is considered reserved only after the first deposit and application fee have been paid and the relevant documentation is passed over and validated by Polo Studenti.

Applications of candidates eligible to the first year will be accepted in a chronological order, based on places available.

Instructions on usage of Portale Iscrizioni can be found at this link:

After reserving your spot, the relevant Board will evaluate your previous academic career and check how many exams and credits can be recognized towards the new selected degree.

Polo Student will communicate the final feedback (Lettera di delibera) on Portale Iscrizioni. The Lettera di delibera will indicate the year of admission as well as the validated exams.

Admission to years after the 1st of enrollment are allowed if the Academic Board recognizes a minimum number of ECTS:

  • at least 40 ECTS for admission to the 2nd year.
  • at least 80 ECTS for admission to the 3rd year.

If you are admitted to the 2nd or 3rd year, you will have to take all the exams listed in the study plan of the programme, including the exams related to years prior to the one of admission which have not been recognized, in compliance with the rules of exam progression (“Prerequisites”) established by the School of Economics and available on the related Guide of the Faculty

You will be given specific deadlines for the submission of your Study Plan.
